Capacity: 51,711Aviva Stadium is a sports stadium located in Dublin, Ireland, with a capacity for 51,711 spectators. It is built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007, and replaced it as home to its chief tenants: the Irish rugby union team and the Republic of Ireland football team. The stadium, located beside Lansdowne Road railway station, officially opened on 14 May 2010. The stadium is Ireland's first, and only, UEFA Category 4 Stadium and in 2011, it hosted the Europa League final. It also hosted the inaugural Nations Cup, as well as the regular home fixtures of the national rugby team, national football team and some home fixtures for Leinster Rugby from August 2010 onwards.

Autumn Internationals

The Autumn Internationals, also known as the November Tests, are a series of rugby union matches that take place each year between national teams from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere. These matches, typically held in late October and November, provide thrilling encounters between the best teams in the world, such as England, France, Ireland, and Wales from the north, and New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia from the south.

Over the past 20 to 30 years, the Autumn Internationals have become a fixture in international rugby, offering fans the chance to see top-level competition outside of the World Cup and Six Nations. Historically, Southern Hemisphere teams have often dominated these series, with the All Blacks (New Zealand), Springboks (South Africa), and Wallabies (Australia) securing memorable victories. However, Northern Hemisphere teams like England, Ireland, and France have shown significant progress in recent years, regularly defeating their southern counterparts. Some of the standout moments include Ireland's first-ever victory over New Zealand in 2016 and England's emphatic 38-21 win over the All Blacks in 2012.

The Autumn Internationals are spread across iconic rugby venues in the Northern Hemisphere, including Twickenham Stadium in London, the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Stade de France in Paris, and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. These matches are hosted by the home unions, bringing intense rivalries and thrilling atmospheres to cities in England, Ireland, France, Scotland, and Wales. The upcoming Autumn Internationals are expected to deliver more high-stakes action, as Northern Hemisphere teams look to challenge the dominance of their Southern Hemisphere counterparts ahead of the next Rugby World Cup.
